The Murray Darling is Australia's largest river system, with more than 2 million people, including those from more than 40 First Nations, living in its vicinity. It provides drinking water for more than 3.5 million people, is home to 16 internationally recognised wetlands and contributes more than $30 billion in agriculture and tourism each year.
Currently, the Basin’s 24 river models require significant manual intervention to provide a whole-of-Basin view, requiring a great deal of effort. Models need to link climatology, hydrology and ecology to achieve a multidisciplinary understanding of the possible effects of climate change.
Over the past 18 months, Sentient Hubs has been working with NSW Department of Planning and Environment to help water managers make more timely, reliable and transparent water management decisions.

Complex processes that previously took weeks and months to configure are now automated through highly-customisable ‘workflow-wizards’.

Sentient Hubs is a collaborative Decision Support Platform improving outcomes for society, the economy, and environment. Visualise, quantify and correlate complex inter-dependencies between dynamic factors like population growth, climate change, or pandemics, against demand for transport, energy and water.
Built on 30 years’ UWA environmental science, and 15 years’ technology development, it's considered a breakthrough in integrated simulation and ‘system-of-systems’ orchestration and optimisation. It is dynamic, interactive and holistic.

At Sentient Hubs, our mission is to improve outcomes by equipping decision makers with the tools they need to anticipate cascading impacts and consequences across systems-of-systems.
