David’s mission is to improve outcomes for society and the environment through radical collaboration. David founded Sentient Hubs in 2017 following the acquisition of world-class science and technology from the University of Western Australia.

Lee has over 20 years international experience spanning corporate, government and academic domains. Lee's work is at the forefront of scientific endeavour, and includes the merging of many technologies. He is the architect behind the Sentient Hubs Platform and heads the research and development program.
Nigel McBride
Chief Risk Officer
Nigel brings 25 years of experience as a lawyer and senior leader in legal services, including Managing Partner and Chief Executive of South Australia’s largest law firm for 12 years, which is part of Asia Pacific’s largest legal group.
He was subsequently the head of that State’s peak business body for 7 years, where he dealt with the State’s most important strategic, economic and business transformational issues.
Alongside a number of Board governance roles, Nigel has provided complex policy advice, risk management analysis, probity & regulatory compliance services, and multi-faceted strategic advice to Boards and senior executives of large organisations across multiple industry sectors.
He is a Graduate and Fellow (GAICD/FAICD) of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an adjunct member of AICD’s faculty (facilitating on FOD Strategy & Risk).
Gabriel Thoumi, CFA, FRM

Adjunct Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University - Financing a Sustainable World
Gabriel is Founder, Responsible Alpha, a thematic investment research manager with over 12 years’ experience as an award-winning ESG analyst (2014, 2015, 2020 & 2021), fellowship recipient (2001, 2002, 2005 & 2007), member of various NGO boards and scientific and financial technical committees, and advisor applying his scientific and investment technical skills to investors, lenders, exchanges, rating agencies, and companies across many sectors of the real-economy to support sustainable and equitable investment strategies.
He has published over 70 thematic research reports employing ESG integration skills, a couple of peer review papers, and hundreds of news articles on capital markets and ESG integration.
He is an adjunct lecturer at Johns Hopkins University where he teaches Financing a Sustainable World. He has also taught at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and at other universities. He holds the Certified Ecologist and LEED AP designations from the Ecological Society of America and the US Green Building Council respectively.
Finally, he spent almost a decade in public service as a volunteer regional environment and energy commissioner supporting a sustainable and just transition economy for the Washington, DC Metro region. His hobbies include mountaineering and alpinism. ocean sailing, running, and reading.
He splits his time between Austria where he lives with his wife and spending time in Washington DC and New York City. He has an MBA and MSc in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan.
Tamara Close, MSc, CFA
ESG Specialist Advisor
Tamara has over 25 years of experience in capital markets and is founder of Close Group Consulting Inc. Tamara focusses on ESG integration practices for asset managers, general partners and asset owners, and recently launched an industry-leading ESG integration maturity assessment tool for investment managers providing standardized industry best practices in a scalable technology-driven solution.
She has held various front office investment management positions for the Bank of Montreal and Credit Lyonnais in the global derivatives and foreign exchange markets. She was head of research and risk management for a fixed income asset management firm in Montreal and later joined PSP Investments, holding senior management roles within the risk and public markets investment groups.
Gillian Marcelle, PhD
Impact Investment Specialist
Gillian is an established thought leader in the impact investment space, where her contributions and perspectives on diversity, inclusion, accountability and alignment with the SDGs are becoming influential. She is a senior leader in economic development and international business with a proven track record in attracting investment to emerging markets.
She is currently the managing member of Resilience Capital Ventures LLC and provides strategic guidance to a portfolio of commercial start-ups and social ventures. In the Caribbean region, she assisted international investor MPC Capital AG with its capital raising efforts in renewable energy and energy efficiency and initiated a blended finance partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative.
Her Sub-Saharan African activities include serving as a non-Executive Director of Tafari Capital Pty Ltd., an innovative fintech start-up in Joburg, South Africa. She previously held staff positions with the International Finance Corporation, as well as, with JP Morgan Chase. Gillian has also advised the United Nations on impact investment and innovation for the benefit of the global South.
Yasmine Hajlovac

Yasmine is a project management professional with over 15 years of experience in port planning and land assembly, development approvals and strategy, stakeholder management, and government relations. Her experience spans both the private and government sectors as well as non-profit organisations.
Yasmine has a proven track record as a Project Manager in delivering major projects during her 12-year tenure at the Pilbara Ports Authority (formerly Dampier Port Authority). This included lead roles in the planning and establishment of the Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area and associated Port to facilitate the foundation proponent’s Chevron Wheatstone Project. As a team member of the Development and Trade Division of Pilbara Ports Authority, Yasmine held key roles in Development Approval Assessment across port lands in Port Hedland, Dampier, and Ashburton - in accordance with the Authority’s' remit.
Yasmine also held lead roles with the former Department of State Development as a Project Manager in the areas of investment facilitation, major projects, and heavy-use industrial lands across Western Australia.
Yasmine has more recently been working with leading shipping and industrial clients to progress development approvals to establish key infrastructure projects in the Pilbara.
Yasmine is also currently studying towards a Master Degree in Supply Chain Management at Curtin University.
Miguel Mujica Mota, PhD
Aviation Modelling, Simulation, & Optimisation Specialist
Miguel is an internationally recognised expert in aviation modelling, simulation, and optimisation. He has published multiple studies on sustainability problems related to airport operations including emissions, efficiency, and CO2 footprint.
Miguel is the Scientific director for Europe of International Group on Aviation and Multimodal Transport (www.igamt.eu), and is an Associate Professor at the Aviation Academy of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. He holds a PhD and a MSc. in informatics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a PhD and MSc. in operations research from the National University of Mexico. He is the current president of EUROSIM (www.eurosim.info) the Federation of Simulation Societies in Europe and the Chair of the Dutch Benelux Simulation Society (www.DutchBSS.org).
Miguel is the co-author of four books and has published more than one hundred scientific and general papers. Miguel's core competencies include: Aviation Simulation & Modelling, Algorithm Development, Optimisation, AI, Machine Learning and Air Traffic Management (ATM).

Most recently, Pascal was WSP’s ANZ Transport Executive for Network Performance and Asset Information Services. This followed 8 years as an Executive Director at Main Roads, Western Australia where his strong understanding of cost effective and innovative infrastructure delivery supported the State’s long-term plans and strategies for transport infrastructure assets.

Dr Ian Oppermann

Dr. Ian Oppermann is the NSW Government’s Chief Data Scientist working within the Department of Customer Service, and Industry Professor at University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Ian has 27 years’ experience in the ICT sector and has led organizations with more than 300 people, delivering products and outcomes that have impacted hundreds of millions of people globally. He has held senior management roles in Europe and Australia as Director for Radio Access Performance at Nokia, Global Head of Sales Partnering (network software) at Nokia Siemens Networks, and then Divisional Chief and Flagship Director at CSIRO.
Ian is considered a thought leader in the area of the Digital Economy and is a regular speaker on “Big Data”, broadband enabled services and the impact of technology on society. He has contributed to 6 books and co-authored more than 120 papers which have been cited more than 3500 times. Ian has an MBA from the University of London and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mobile Telecommunications from Sydney University.
Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Society of NSW, a Fellow and Immediate Past President of the Australian Computer Society, and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ian is also president of the Australia National Committee of the IEC and president of the JTC1 strategic advisory committee in Australia.
